There are various signs that someone may benefit from receiving psychotherapeutic services by a Registered Psychologist. 

Below are a few examples that could help you, a family member or friend identify that therapy may be beneficial. Kindly note that this is not an exhaustive list.

  • struggling to cope with a traumatic event or personal loss

  • ​persistent negative thoughts

  • sleeping too little or too much

  • unsatisfied with lifestyle choice or habits

  • using substances excessively, or struggling to break free from substance dependence

  • getting into trouble at school, university, or work

  • isolating oneself

Feeling
Related

  • feeling less motivated than before

  • feeling burnout or having difficulty coping with life's demands

  • lacking enjoyment in life

  • getting easily angered, or having frequent anger outbursts

  • feeling more irritable than usual

  • bottling up emotions

  • feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or anxious (anxiety has benefits, but too much can be challenging)
